ANCESTRAL, COPARCENERY & SELF ACQUIRED PROPERTY
Ancestral Property:
- The Property inherited upto four generations of Male lineage, which means father, grandfather, great grandfather & great great grandfather.
- The Property should have remained undivided till the fourth generation upwards.
Coparcenery Property:
- The property inherited upto three generation of male lineage i.e. father, grandfather & great grandfather.
Self Acquired Property:
- The Property purchased by an individual out of his/her own resources.
- The Property acquired as a part of partition of any ancestral/ coparcenery property.
- The Property acquired as a legal heir
- The Property acquired by an testamentary document such as Will and Gift.
When ancestral property becomes self acquired property?
- When an ancestral property divided through partition or family arrangement.
When self acquired property becomes ancestral property?
- If an self acquired property thrown into the pool of ancestral properties & enjoyed in common.
